Kurt Geiger Flats

This outfit is one of those weird things where I thought it looked pretty good in real life, but in the pictures it looks a bit mismatched. I feel like the jeans look too flouro and the leopard looks too dark. But honestly, in real life, it worked! The opposite thing happened with my lipstick- I really didn't like it in real life but it looks fab in the photos so maybe I'll stick with it! These are my new Kurt Geiger flats, aren't they gorgeous? Please excuse the plasters on my feet- my beloved Blowfish Garren Platforms turned against me yesterday and made me bleed. They've never ever rubbed me before! Anyway, these are my babies. I love the colour and I'm hoping for £45 they'll go with everything. I'm a bit scared to wear them though! Half-way through today I noticed a little water mark on the side of the right one, but I've been googling "how to clean satin shoes" all day so hopefully I can get them clean again! I cannot be trusted with nice things!

I had such a lovely weekend at home that I didn't want to come back on Sunday night! But I had a really fun day yesterday! If you follow me on twitter you might know what I spent the day doing, but I'm going to wait until I'm allowed to post about it to tell you all about it and show you the pictures! It was very, very fun and related to my blog and the pictures I have are awesome so I cannot wait to see the ones taken for my feature! Today has been a boring library day and I've been a bit sulky, but I just have a couple of days left and them I'm going home and then it's my birthday! Yay! The next few days are gonna be spent catching up with work (but tomorrow night I'm cooking dinner for Grant which should be a nice break from studying!) and then Thursday my parents are coming to get me. And then Friday is my 22nd birthday and we're going to Edinburgh for the weekend! I've never been and I'm so excited, especially to see the pandas! If you're new to my blog, hi, I'm Charlotte and I love pandas!

Ooh and a few features! The coloured jeans feature I took part in for Matalan is up on their facebook page, I was also featured on the Jones&Jones facebook page (don't worry, I'll have some better photos of that dress soon!) and I was featured in a Canadian magazine thanks to the work I did with Vedette. I'm on the bottom row, second in!

I hope you have a lovely day guys!

Spots and Stripes

I apologise for the awful quality of these photos. I had a really stressful and busy morning and didn't get a chance to go take photos until midday, and of course, on a sunny day they were either all gross and over exposed or massively dark in the shade, so these were the best I could get. I'm frustrated because I thought my photography was really getting better and these are rubbish!

I've been kinda insecure about the way I look in this skirt. Its made of like tulle-like material and has lots of layers and it's really poofy so I feel as though it makes me look massive! I'm determined to just keep wearing it though and kinda get over it because it's such a gorgeous skirt and my other two black skirts are now too big, so I'm hoping to just get used to it's poofiness! I wanted to keep this outfit quite simple so I went for a monochrome palette. I dithered over the spotty tights but I thought they were fun. I almost wore my favourite tesco boots, but I had to drag a suitcase along the street today so I thought flats were a better choice- I've had these for ages but I've been wearing them loads lately!

I'm back home for the weekend now and it's so nice to be back after such a busy week. I'm looking for a couple of days rest and getting bits of stuff done before I go back to uni next week. I'm going shopping with my Mum tomorrow which I'm really excited for!
I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Fake Birthday

girl next door fashion outfit

Today was my fake birthday with my housemates! I'm going home for the weekend tomorrow and my housemate Briony is going home pretty much for good on Saturday. Seriously, where has this year gone?! It feels like five minutes ago that I moved in! Anyway, tonight was the last night we would all be together before my actual Birthday next Friday so we had a little celebration tonight. First, presents!

My lovely housemates bought me a pair of red heart print tights and a little panda purse thing which opens out into a carrier bag! They also got me a box of cupcakes! I am currently eating the peanut butter one (top left) and it is absolutely divine!

Despite being pescatarian for 11 years, I had never ever been to a vegetarian restaurant, so when I was looking for somewhere for us to go for dinner I decided to go somewhere a bit different so I googled
Vegetarian Restaurants in Birmingham and chose the Warehouse cafe. It's down a bit of a scary-looking street- my housemates were like "where are you taking us?" and you have to buzz in to get into the restaurant, but once you get upstairs, it's the cutest little rustic restaurant with big chalkboards and photographs of vegetables on the walls. All their food is vegetarian and their drinks are alcohol free. Now, food porn time...

For starters, I had the falafel which was delicious, and Briony and Beth had the soup of the day (which is made from all local ingredients) which was parsnip, with sour dough bread, which I tried and it was also lovely. For the main courses...

And Beth had the tagliatelle with a green salad

The food was amazing and it was so hard to chose what to order! We were chatting with the waitress and she was saying how as a veggie, she isn't used to so much choice, which was definitely how I felt! I wanted everything! I'm already begging my parents to take me so I can try other things on the menu!

Thank you to my amazing housemates for a great night. Being the wild child I am, I was home by 8.30 and in my pajamas watching Green Wing in bed eating cupcakes! I have about a month's worth of sleep to catch up on! It's been so crazy since I handed my dissertation in yesterday- I can't believe it done! Last night Grant cooked me dinner and I've spent most of today in a sort of lazy daze- but I did have the last lecture and seminar of my whole degree today- eek! I'm going home tomorrow though and I cannot wait! It's technically the end of term tomorrow but I'm coming back on Sunday for a few days to try to get as much done as possible before I go home for Easter!

I'll be back tomorrow guys! Hope you enjoy all the food porn!

Matalan Coloured Jeans Project

girl next door fashion outfit

These shoes make my feet bleed. They are now wrapped up in plasters. But it's worth it. How gorgeous are they? I'm determined to stretch them out- I tried it last time wearing a pair of big socks under them, but they still hurt. Woe is me. Anyway, a few weeks ago I was contacted by the lovely people at Matalan to take part in a challenge to style up their coloured skinny jeans and after much umm-ing and ahh-ing I chose this coral pair. They are absolutely stunning and I love them. I was so excited to pair them with my mint blouse- I love this combination! My blogger bestie, Sian, picked the aqua pair we went for the exact same colour combo as me- mint and pink! Speaking of the lovely Sian, she sent me a package of early birthday present today! She sent me the same mint sunglasses that she is wearing in her post, and also a pack of pastel coloured socks! I wore the sunglasses today but they arrived after I'd already taken these photos. Thanks Sian, you're the best! Don't forget to check out her jeans post, and also Susie and Sara who are also in the project!

My hair is a bit weird in these photos. I woke up an hour before my alarm this morning and decided to get up early to get more done. I ended up attempting to curl just the bottom of my hair but I can't really get it right. My housemate, Beth is going to teach me to curl my hair with my GHDs which I think is the right way to do it. Today, I went to uni to write 1000 words of my English dissertation and then came home and worked on my American Studies dissertation. It's due in on Thursday so I just need to finish off my referencing and bibliography and get it bound tomorrow- eek! I am so, so excited for it to be handed in! Tomorrow, Grant is cooking me dinner (a guy has never cooked me dinner before!) and then on Thursday my housemates are I are going out for dinner to celebrate my (early!) birthday. Then I'm going home for the weekend to go shopping with my Mum. I technically finish school (forever! wow that's scary!) on Friday, but I'm staying an extra week to get work done next week. But I'm coming home next Thursday for my birthday on Friday and then at the weekend I'm going to Edinburgh to see the pandas! Yay!

I just want to say thank you SO MUCH to Matalan for being a fantastic company to work with. I've worked with them three or four times now, and they are absolutely great. It's so wonderful that such a big company has time for some of the smaller bloggers like myself. I absolutely love these jeans and am so happy to have gotten involved. Sian and I are also going to swap our jeans in a few weeks so we can style different colours!

I hope next time I'm here my first dissertation will have been handed in- yay!
