(two) Week(s) in Photos
1. Cheeky congratulations card
Card from my parents when I started my new job.
2-3. Frank Turnerrrrrrrrrrr
Last Friday I headed down to Wolverhampton after work to meet Steph to see Frank Turner. It was my sixth time seeing him! I absolutely love him and he was amazing as always. Steph and I are already talking about going to both the Birmingham and Manchester dates next year.
4-5. Burritos and Coke floats
Steph and I had a much-needed lie in on Saturday morning and skipped breakfast in favour of a delicious lunch at Chiquitos. We had nachos and burritos and coke floats! We used to go to Chiquitos all the time when Steph and I were home for the holidays but it had been ages since we last went!
6. Paying the price for a busy weekend
After a late night at Frank Turner on Friday night and going out for drinks with old high school friends on Saturday after my first full week of working full time, I was exhausted by Sunday. I ended up spending most of the day in bed with flu symptoms and a sore throat. Waah.
7. Malteser Cookies
I'd promised my colleagues I'd bring malteser cookies into work on Monday, so even though I was feeling rough, I got up for a bit to keep my promise! I followed Amy's recipe and took her advice to add some extra condensed milk. They were lovely and very popular in the office!
8. Pink lamp
Everyone in my office has a pink lamp so they ordered one for me so I don't feel left out! I love it.
9. 400 Instagram Followers
10. Ripped in 30
I've almost finished the 30 Day Shred so this is going to be my next challenge!
11. New favourite salad
11. New favourite salad
I take a packed lunch to work every day but I sometimes struggle to keep my lunch exciting. This week I made a salad of quorn fillets, goats cheese and craisins with garlic, lemon and honey dressing. Nom!
12. Pink desk organiser
Another desk addition! And the first item I've had had to assemble from Ikea. I even used a screwdriver!
13. Coffee and Kindle
Referred to in this post.
14. My fringe is back!
After inadvertently growing my fringe out (I didn't get it cut enough when I last when to the hairdressers!) I had it cut back in on Thursday in time for my graduation. I feel much more "me" but I'm finding it really hard to get used to!
15. Advent calendar
16. Sneaky peek of my graduation dress!
I can't believe it's on Friday!
17. McDonald's Breakfast
We ran out of time for breakfast yesterday before we had to go out so Dad suggested McDonald's breakfast. I seriously can't remember the last time I had a McDonald's breakfast so it was a really nice treat!
18. Bananas and Custard
How awesome is this sports bra? SO PINK.
20. Christmas DVD Haul
Don't worry, I do already have Love Actually on DVD but I haven't been able to find it the last few years so I couldn't resist getting it for £3. And of course Elf and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
21. Cuppa in bed
22. Winter fashion cheat sheet
At the weekends I struggle to find outfit inspiration (I've got a post on this planned for this week!) so I wrote a little cheat sheet of all my favourite things about winter fashion to give me a boost!
23. New winter boots
I was desperate for a new pair of winter boots and I was really struggling to find my dream pair when I stumbled over these babies in Debenhams. And they were 30% off!
24. First attempt at protein pancakes
I'm not actually a massive pancake fan but I was really craving them yesterday. I'd found a recipe for protein pancakes and had everything in to make them so I thought I'd give them a go! Plus they have the texture of American style pancakes which I much prefer. All I did was blend up 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 3/4 cup liquid egg white and a drop of vanilla essence. Then I sprayed a non-stick pan with fry light and dropped a blob of batter in and cooked them for 2 minutes on each side. I did them one by one because I suck at flipping them. It made enough for my Mum and I to both have 3 small pancakes each, and we had them with berries, banana and maple syrup. Mmmm.
