Mustard and Ketchup

I would like you all to know that my boyfriend's parents are amazing and I had a lovely time yesterday! Thank you for all yours votes of confidence, I really appreciate it!!

Yesterday Erick picked me up at 8.30am (and me being me, I was up at 6.30am to get ready!!) and we drove down. It was a really nice drive with about 50 of Erick's CDs to choose from!! After the initial awkwardness I had a great time and I can see now why Erick told me not to be worried- they're lovely and I felt completely at home with them!! We went for fish and chips at a place that apparently has the best fish and chips in Minneapolis and they were pretty good!! I haven't really had fish and chips outside of England so it was really interesting to try them somewhere else!! His brother and dad are really into photography too so it was cool to talk about camera stuff with them and listen to their much-more-advanced camera talk!! I had a great time and we managed to somehow survive the drive back! I am totally exhausted though- I had a midterm this morning so I got up extra early for extra studying. I need to go get some caffeine!!

Things of note this week- the gorgeous Laura did a great remix of my floral dress today which is really inspiring. I can't wait to get this dress back!! Today was also really exciting as I was featured on the ModCloth Tumblr wearing the dress they donated to The Lovely Ones. Thank, Modcloth! Speaking too of Modcloth, today I am ordering the Just Because I Love You Dress and the Flowers of Romance Dress as birthday presents from my Mum who is having trouble with their site. I'm excited to have my own Modcloth purchases! I literally only want clothes for my birthday- I've asked my boyfriend for the Tasteful in Tumeric dress but it's currently sold out in my size!! Fingers crossed they restock before my birthday.

Oh how I love my new lens. This was my first time outside with it and I'm so happy with how these came out. Look how blurry the background is!! Oh, 1.8 lens, can we get married and have babies together?

mustard jumper- river island
leather jacket- H&M
boots- xavi
circle scarf- forever 21

I can't believe that this time next week I'll be getting ready to go to New York! I can't even think about it because it doesn't feel real. I've wanted to go to New York my whole life. It's always been that city where I thought "this is where I'm going to end up." The city of bright lights and fashion and beauty. I can't wait. I just have to get this insanely busy week out of the way first!!

About this outfit, anyway, it was inspired by a look I saw on Chictopia by daretobedifferent...

I bought this mustard jumper absolutely years ago and I hadn't worn it for ages. When I saw this look I was instantly inspired to pair it with a leather jacket. The red scarf was something I threw on this afternoon, but I love the mustard-and-ketchup look of it all!!

Sorry for another hugely photo-heavy post. I promised it will stop when my new lens loses its novelty. Which I hope it never does!!

Have a great Monday!!

Charlotte xxx
