I would like to make it known that I really, really hate the shoes I'm wearing with this outfit. But of course, I have an excuse. These photos were taken a couple of days before I left home, and I had plans to go for coffee with my friend Eve. The leopard flats I wanted to wear (these ones), absolutely destroy my feet and I knew I would be walking to the coffee shop to meet her. Rather than show you an outfit I did not actually wear, aka, the nice shoes, I went with honesty and am showing you what I actually wore. But yeah, I hate these shoes with this outfit. So I apologise.

Regardless of shoe choice, I really love this outfit. I love me a good pencil skirt. At the moment I have to really think about what I'm buying, because when I come home in October I'm going to be looking for a grown up job, which means my wardrobe is going to change a lot. I need to think of pieces that will work well for the office as well as for the weekend. This skirt was perfect. It's a stretchy material, so it fits perfectly, and I'm actually considering getting it in black too. It's so funny that during the last year my style has become much more preppy and grown up- button up shirts, pencil skirts, trousers, blazers- but it means I'll have a larger scope of clothes to choose from when I do get a job (fingers crossed!). I could definitely have dressed this up more formally with a white shirt and blazer, but that would be easy, so I thought I'd show you how a pencil skirt can be worn for the day time. This tartan shirt is one of my favourite, favourite things and it instantly makes the skirt look more casual. I thought leopard accessories would be a fun and unexpected touch too!

Now Bri has gone back to school my social life has all but disintegrated, but I'm having a good time relaxing right now. We had a few people over last night which was really fun (even though I had to go to bed early because I had to be up for work at 7!), and I've started to get back into going for 4-5 mile walks after work. I'm going to enjoy having some time to relax, read and cook over the next few days before bringing my social life back in. I'm starting to get really sad that I'm leaving in a few weeks, but I'm excited for a whole month of travelling when I finish working! I am going to miss the people here so, so much though. I'm having such a great summer!
I hope your week has been lovely!

  4. Cute outfit, I really like these shoes- they're lovely with the bow on them. I always like tartan and leopard print anyway, because it's got such a punky feel!
