Acceptable in the 90s

Today I wasn't supposed to be taking outfit pictures for two reasons. One was because I went out last night in Birmingham and didn't get home til 4 this afternoon (by that I mean the train hope, not that I partied til 4pm!!) and secondly, I didn't really like my outfit. However, I had brought this shirt to Birmingham with me just in case I had time when I got home to take pictures (you might notice it is identical to yesterday's outfit, minus the top). I did plan on washing my hair but then couldn't be bothered. Nothing a little dry shampoo couldn't fix.

This is the world's smallest shirt. I'm usually around an 8 in tops, sometimes a 10, and this is a 12 and just about fits. My mum got it for me and the woman in the shop had said they were really small and get a bigger size- I'm glad she did!! Anyway, I'd worn it today with it tucked into the skirt, which looked okay, but it was when I got home that I wondered what it would looked like as a crop today. So I gave it a go and voila!! Ready to party like it's 1999.

I think this would have looked better with denim shorts, but I'm getting a bit worried about getting so behind on 30 for 30, especially with going back to work. I'm trying to squeeze as many outfits in as I can because it's getting very frustrating knowing I have weeks and weeks left to go!! I have my cousin's first communion on Sunday and it's really difficult to find something appropriate and fancy enough with my 30 for 30 items. I have a couple of options but it is hard. I know I could just skip a day (which I've done before), but it just pushes me back further!!

orange skirt- Urban Outfitters
denim shirt- H&M
ballet flats- Wet Seal

I don't think I can remember the last time my midriff saw the light of day. Like most girls, it's not the part of my body I particularly like to show off, but I was surprisingly happy with the way these photos came out. I know, a vouch of body confidence on this blog?! Has hell frozen over?! But no, I think I might be trying this style again soon. I am a typical pear-shape so everything is okay if you stay above the waist!!

Hope you're having a great day :]]

  1. OMG! Love it! I am all about the knotted shirt this summer. I like to wear it with jeans, tucked in tank, and tie the denim shirt and a pair of wedges. I feel like a pin-up. haha. :)
