Tartan and Stripes

I look a lot better than I feel in these photos. Today was my last day of being sick, I've decided. I've still been working all day. I finished my book, worked on my disseratation, napped, drunk a lot of medicated drinks and tried to rest as much as possible. I still feel rubbish, but I can't afford to have another day at home. I've got a dissertation meeting tomorrow and I'm going to see Frank Turner tomorrow night too, so I need an early night and lots of rest and the will to feel better!!

This was what I wore this morning, before swiftly changing in my sweatpants and a hoodie. Man oh man are my sweatpants comfy. They sometimes make me never want to wear real clothes again. Anyway, this outfit was in part inspired by Annebeth of The Styling Dutchman.

I was lamenting the fact that I don't have a white cable-knit jumper and almost gave up on the outfit til I got one (it's on my wish list!) but then I pulled this jumper out and forgot it's a kind of off-white. I don't wear this  jumper nearly enough, but my Mum bought it me last year and she loves it, so this outfit is for her today. I hadn't worn knee high socks in ages, but I fancied a bit of a change today. Also, they were extra-Annebeth! I did have a fab red beret to wear too, but my head is too small (?) and it kept falling off!!

jumper- Miss Selfridge
scarf- Topshop
skirt- Target
boots- New Look

Well, I'd better go have one last night of rest before it's back to the grind.
Have a fab evening,

Charlotte x

  4. haha I was actually cursing myself after photo taking because I was wearing a bold black and white striped jumper underneath the cable knit that was even more awesome with the tartan, so you definitely got my vibe right!

  8. Nice outfit! I really enjoyed her outfit when I saw it too, no wonder you were inspired. I love plaids and tartans but all my skirts in those prints are super long, I like your cute short one.
