Outfit Favourite: May- August

Girl Next Door Fashion is a year old on 22nd December, so over the next few weeks I'm going to be looking back over my favourite outfits and posts from the last year.  You can see my outfit favourites from January-March here, and April here

I'm really enjoying doing this series. It's really opening my eyes to how to make the most of my wardrobe. My blog took a month-long hiatus for pretty much all of May, so I only have one outfit from then, but after that I had all the summer to play with ideas and create new outfits. I find summer more of a challenge than any other season because it's so easy just to throw on a vest top and shorts or a dress, but I love the combinations that I came up with.

This is still one of my favourite outfits. You know how I feel about this tutu skirt, and I absolutely loved nude and lace this summer, I loved the casual look of this denim jacket thrown over anything- so much lighter than leather. Ah I just absolutely love this outfit. I wish it was still warm enough for outfits like this!!

This was where my leopard print addiction began. I love this look- it's actually what I wore to travel in when I came to the States. It's so simple but so sexy. Definitely one of my favourites.

These shorts were a huge impulse buy. I loved them, and still do, but the were so on-trend that they don't really go with much!! I decided not to buy a red skirt last week so I think I'll bring these back and see how they'll fare with a cuddly black jumper for winter. They are gorgeous though- I love the military look.

Converse were my shoes of choice when I was about 15,16 but I stopped wearing them about 3 years ago. Then I started to see them everywhere over summer and I loved the laid-back effect that had on an outfit, especially when paired with a denim jacket. So I dug these babies out- I bought them in 2007. I love this casual, summery look.

19th August 2010

This look is probably the preppiest outfit I have ever worn, but I absolutely love it. I nearly took this pussy-bow shirt back because I didn't think I needed it but it works so well with this Gossip-Girl inspired, school-uniform look. I wore a uniform for 12 years at school but it was never as cute as this!!

26th August 2010

Wow, my hair is SO short here. There is where I started to get obsessed with this playsuit. I love it. You can't really tell on these pictures but there's tiny red spots in the flowers so I chose the cardigan to bring out the red.

Well those are the last of my pictures from the UK. The next three posts (September, October and November) are going to be from my time living here in the US!!
I hope you're enjoying this series- I'm really enjoying looking back over my old outfits. I hope you are too :]]

Hope your weekend was fab :]]

  4. Congrats on your anniversary. I love retrospectives: they give us perspective and, as a new follower of your blog, they show me stuff I haven't seen before. And this look back demonstrates your amazing style. You rock several different looks equally. My favorite, by far, is the red shorts -- superb!
